What is TNT

TNT is our university’s first monthly e-zine, which will be focusing on the regular life at FAST. It will be highlighting the not-so-ordinary activities of the students on an ordinary day. We feel that we have a diverse set of individuals; from our conversations, to fashion, to academics. So we thought of compiling all that is happening around us in one place, and bringing out our own campus stories in a lighter manner.

The idea of TNT came about two years back. Since then, it has gone through a lot of changes and makeovers. And we’re glad to see that now we have finally put it into shape. Our latest issue is coming out after a whole year. Therefore this month’s TNT is going to be bigger and better than ever. Many of you may be wondering about the name, how it came about. Well, after the idea of the magazine, we thought it should have a name that goes along with the content and should be catchy at the same time. So after a lot of thought, and various names, we finalized it as “The NMG Twister”, nicknaming it as “TNT”, which both create some interesting perceptions of the magazine.

Now first of all, we would like to acknowledge some people. The NMG team 2009-2010, who helped us all the way into making TNT possible once again. Starting with our President, Abdus Salam who was able to form such a dedicated team; Ali Ibrahim, Hira Naeem, Muhammad Ahmad Rasheed, Auraib Rizwani, Saad Ali, Saira Azhar, Faraz Tariq, Haniya Elahi, Sehar Aziz, Bilal Amjad, Sarah Kamal and last but not the least, Ma’am Faiza Dar who always believes in us and helps us through the way.

In this issue, we have a lot of interesting stuff for you guys. The new ’20 minute seating law’ has been discussed in our expressions section with various students voicing their opinions. Saira Azhar discusses in her article ‘Fresh Arrivals’, how difficult life can be for a freshman at FAST. You all must know how difficult is it to find a PC in the labs. You will read all about it in ‘A tale of computer stalkers’. Faraz Tariq shares his Theory of the 3 F’s in his article ‘What is it with the letter F?’. From interesting articles and overheards to the latest music and movie reviews, we have covered it all.

We have tried our best to make this month’s issue a truly memorable experience for all. We hope you enjoy it!
